I started to paint when I was 17 years old but as adulthood approached, so too did responsibilities and my time dried up; leaving my oil paints, boards, and art in the loft. Based in Highworth, Wiltshire, our house has been full of this early art since that time, but the yearning to paint faded as other areas of life were explored, and my time was full with being a father to my two children and leading a busy work life.
But fast forward 40 years and along came my retirement which gifted me back that very important asset of an artist; time! My children and wife were adamant that I pick up the paintbrush as before and so, fearful that I’d lost the ability to paint and full of trepidation, I slowly attempted to paint once again. One painting led to the next, and my critical eye and obsession for painting took hold of me just as it had done before. My weeks are now moulded around each new painting project and taking inspiration from my previous work, I’m now pushing my own boundaries and attempting art which I've never tried before. I hope you get as much pleasure from viewing my paintings as I do from creating them.
Please feel free to get in touch regarding any exhibitions, commissions, or if you’d just like to discuss art in general.
